PDF Reader & Editor ("we", "us", or "our") is developed by
BrightCode Dev. We value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what
information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our mobile
application.
1. Permissions
We request the following Android permissions solely to support core features. We do not collect
or transmit personal data beyond what is described here.
-
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE & WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Used on Android 10 and below to open, read, save, edit, merge, split, compress, rename,
and manage PDF and related documents stored on your device. Your files are processed locally
and are not uploaded to our servers.
-
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (All files access)
Used on Android 11 and above when you grant All files access so the app can browse, open,
and save PDFs and documents across shared storage (Downloads, Documents, and similar
folders). We use this access only for document management features you choose to use. We do
not automatically modify or delete your files without your action.
-
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES
Used on Android 13 and above to let you import photos from your gallery for image-to-PDF,
scanner workflows, and other tools that convert images into PDF documents. We do not upload
your photos to our servers.
-
CAMERA
Used only when you choose scan or camera capture features to photograph documents and
create PDF pages. We do not access the camera in the background or without your action.
-
POST_NOTIFICATIONS
Used only if you allow notifications for optional app messages such as reminders or service
updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in Android system settings.
-
INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Used for optional online features such as Web to PDF, loading web content, checking network
connectivity, and in-app services that require an internet connection. Offline PDF viewing
and editing on local files do not require these permissions.
